Focus On The Solution

by Cecile Cinco

Thinking of the problem is not bad as long as you do not whine over it or worry about it. Both will not give you the solution to the problem but will only take more time to solve it. I know I have laxed in posting in this blog but that’s about it. It is time to post and I have made some moves to be able to do just that. I expect to be able to update this blog more often than what I had done.

One Day At A Time

It seems, with the daily grind, problems overwhelm us. Well, for most people, no day will pass by without any problem. Problems are like the daily companion of every living person. Some are greater than the other which means some are lighter as well.

Continuous Learning #6: Preserving Your Laptop’s Battery

by Cecile Cinco

If you are using a laptop or notebook, the battery is the most vulnerable to replacement. If you are using your machine the whole day and even night, you are giving it a hard time. The battery gets nearer death when exposed to too much heat, which happens when you use your laptop almost nonstop.

Continuous Learning #5: The Chicken Attack

by Cecile Cinco

Many of you do know that I have asthma. It can be triggered by different allergens: smoke, dust, perfume/cologne, bad odor, too hot climate, too cold climate, oily foods, too much laughing (yes, I always say that whoever said laughter is the best medicine has never had asthma), chicken, smell of seafood, among others.

It wasn’t until recently that I FULLY realized how chicken is hurting me more than the others. When I had white spots under my chin, I realized I have had too much chicken already. When I had it before (about 30 years ago), no amount of topical treatment can get it out. I stopped eating chicken for a year and it vanished. I had no asthma attacks then because I was physically active which compensates for my lack of routine exercise. Now, though, that I don’t have enough physical movements, asthma is bound to attack anytime I encounter any of my allergens.

Continuous Learning #4: FB Tagging First Name Only

by Cecile Cinco

I learned something just now. (I know this post is late. It should have been yesterday but more important things should be done.)

Anyway, I have been wondering how to tag my FB friends using just the first name. It is more personal and not as stiff as having the full name reflected. I thought it is more cool to use that feature.

Top Ten Emerging Influential Blogs For 2011

by Cecile Cinco

It was in 2007 when I first joined the writing project. I was not able to join the following years. This month starts another for 2011 and I plan to join.

It is supposed to pick 10 blogs I find most influential. These blogs should have started not earlier than April 2010. That means the blogs are fairly new yet they are influential.

Continuous Learning #3: Body Parts And Lengths

by Cecile Cinco

This post is a late for last Wednesday and early for this Wednesday. I had more important matters to attend to. Anyway, I decided to run this for this week so that will be until next Tuesday.

Did you know that there are certain body parts that define certain lengths without having to use a ruler or a tape measure or a meter? For instance, the length of your foot is the same as the length of your forearm so if someone’s giving you a pair of shoes,  you can first use your forearm to roughly estimate if it fits you before actually wearing them on your feet, especially if you are currently in socks and rubber shoes (which is a bit of a hassle to take off and put on again…just to find out the new pair doesn’t actually fit).

Continuous Learning #2: Multiplication Challenged?

by Cecile Cinco

Remember when you were in grade school, your math teacher would let you memorize the multiplication table? Were you able to? Was it easy or difficult? What memorable experiences have you had then?

I wasn’t good in math but I guess I was good in finding ways to resolve my weakness. I wasn’t able to memorize (up until now) my multiplication table but I have used a system (and I still use it until now) so I can multiply numbers from 6-9 (the problem numbers) in a breeze without having to strain my mind by memorizing (especially now that memory fails faster than I imagined).

Continuous Learning #1: Plural Errors

by Cecile Cinco

Since I was young (elementary level) up until now, I still see plural errors that are posted not only in department stores or stalls but in the company name itself. When it’s in a company name, that’s not easy to correct. It cannot be corrected at all especially if you’re making letterheads for the company. Other times I hear radio and tv broadcaster and newscasters using the wrong plurals (to think they have finished a college degree!).

Welcome! (Plus Food Trip Friday)

by Cecile Cinco

Welcome to one of my blogs, C5 Living Life! :)

As a way to welcome life, I’d like to share with you my sumptuous meal last night. (Pardon my cheap camera.) I don’t know how to call it yet but I’ll describe it how I did it.
